About Me
My name is Rich Lemmon. I'm a software engineer by day and am located
in Rochester, New York.
Photography is a hobby that I picked up a few years ago. When I first started,
I was very uncomfortable taking portrait shots of people because I wasn't able
to make camera adjustments fast enough for changing lighting/environmental conditions.
I took a lighting class last year and it opened my eyes to portrait photography.
One of the aspects I love most about photography is trying to capture the person
as I see them in my minds eye. Sometimes it's the way the person laughs
or smiles or the way they carry themselves. When photographing someone I always
feel a bit selfish because the session isn't about them; it's about me trying
to capture who they are to me so others will see them the way I do.
Along with the photography, I also do the post-production work, the web development
and the hosting of HumanityOnDisplay.com . As I mentioned, I work during the
day so I only have evenings and weekends to take photographs. Once I'm
done with a shoot I can spend a week or two on post-production work. Being
a software engineer certainly helps in that respect.
Aside from photography I love to cook. If you have a good recipe,
share the love!
I'm always looking for volunteers to try new ideas with. If you'd
like to have some shots done, please feel free to contact me.
